Pond drainage systems should be considered when thinking about a pond project

Occasionally water or gas may get trapped underneath your liner. This is especially likely if your pond is on the ground that is predominantly clay, has high levels of organic matter or where there are greater fluctuations in the water table. Over time, this trapped water or gas may cause damage to your pond liner. To prevent this, you can install a drainage system using porous pipes laid into a bed of sand to divert the water or gas away from the pond.
